Fitness For LIFE- Hiking

Joycelyn Francis is a dedicated Fitness Coach, born and raised on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago. She and her husband are proud parents of two sons, and together they now call Rockaway Borough home. As a family, they enjoy an active lifestyle—training, hiking, and exercising in the many local parks. I am passionate about sharing my purpose and love for fitness, helping others build healthier lifestyles through consistent exercise and balanced nutrition. My heart for community shines through in our group’s activities, which foster both wellness and fellowship.

During the colder months, members will enjoy a mix of indoor and outdoor activities such as ice skating, skiing, roller skating, bowling, and game nights. Throughout the year, the group will meet once a month for outdoor hikes or activities, and gather on Zoom for prayer and check-in chats on the last Sunday of each month.

Hike Details:

• Drive Time: 45 minutes to 1 hour

• Hike Duration: 2–3 hours

• What to Bring: Hiking backpack, Weather-appropriate clothing (moisture-wicking layers recommended), Hiking boots or sturdy shoes, Water, Plenty of snacks

This group is designed for anyone with some level of hiking experience who wants to challenge themselves physically while also building deeper connections through movement, community, and faith, together, we’re building not only stronger bodies.
