Both performer and professor, Dr. Crystal Endsley Taylor is an award-winning spoken word artist, poet, author, and advocate. She lives in Montclair and teaches at John Jay College in New York City. Whether she is rehearsing theater with high school girls in the Bronx, writing poems with young folks in New Orleans, sharing a mic with artists in Tanzania, in a cypher with poets in Soweto, or performing on stage at the United Nations, Crystal uses spoken word to shine a light in the darkness.
